OMS 2022 September Mentoring (Mentor)

Thank you very much for supporting your mentees as they continue on the second half of their OMS journey.

The month of September is very much “led” by your mentees in that they know they must get a move on with UCAS registration, personal statements and registering for their entrance tests. Please continue to give insights into the admissions process and signposting where they need to go online, where needed.

Thank you in advance for helping your mentee to finalise their UCAS Personal Statements. Whilst they must own the process, you can helpfully suggest areas of their personal statement that they can explore further and ways that they can refine what they mean and mean what they say. Getting your mentee to articulate their thoughts first before writing it down invariably helps with this!

A summary and more information on what you could cover in your September mentoring session is shown in your OMS Mentor Booklet and OMS Syllabus. At this point of the OMS, it would be tips and tricks for successfully sitting any entrance tests and honing interview technique, using the relevant frameworks that have been taught in OMS classes.
